Single mom, Bailey Yates, has had enough of bad boys to last her the next 18 years. She's always been a sucker for them, and Jessamine's ultimate bad boy, Lucas Lawson, is no exception for her. So, when he returns to town, naturally she's drawn to him. And naturally, she must avoid him at all costs - no matter how attracted she is to him. She'll give him a job, and keep her distance...until Lucas saves her son from a hit and run.
Finally, Lucas Lawson is a free man. After serving five years in prison for embezzlement, he's come home to Jessamine to right the wrongs he committed against his friends and family. But, it won't be easy. For starters, the brother he's looked up to his entire life wants nothing to do with him, and no one in town trusts Lucas enough to give him a chance to make amends. Until, Bailey Yates gives him a job at her family's diner.
Bailey gives Lucas a hope for the future he hasn't allowed himself to feel in years while Lucas melts Bailey's heart every time he spends time with her son. Could he be the one to put her life back together? But when Lucas is accused of stealing from a local charity, Bailey must decide to support him or realize that some men are too good to be true.

Love So True The Lawson Brothers Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Marquita Valentine Piper Goodeve Books Reviews
Great book, I am loving these Lawson brothers! Such a beautiful story of love. Bailey fell hard for Lucas, an ex-con trying to belong again. Their love story was very sweet and the story showed two characters with strong convictions that had to overcome their past. Really liked the story, loved Leo, he is adorable. So far this is one good series, love the introduction of the town people in both Book 1 and 2 and it appears they will be appearing in the all the books, I really like that, keeps me committed to the series (well that and those SEXY Lawson boys). A must read! Can't wait for the next book.
Love So True is the second book in the Lawson Brothers series by Marquita Valentine. It tells the story of Lucas Lawson coming home to right his wrongs after spending five years in orison for embezzlement. He does not expect it to be easy, but he is determined to do the right thing.
The last thing Lucas expects is support from Bailey Yates, a single mother and the daughter of one of the trusted families he made bad investments for. She gives him a chance by offering him a job when no one else would. She also gives him hope for the first time in over five years.
This is a great story about second chances and standing up for what is right. As I get to know the other members of the Lawson family, I can't wait for their stories as well.
The prologue had me in tears when it was included in the back of Love so Hot. It managed to do it again when I started reading Love so True. The story was fast paced, and had a few editing errors (missing or extra words, half sentences that were later changed left behind) but if you are into a story you work around those.
Bailey is a good person, she's had a little bit of a reckless past but grew up when she became a mom.
Lucas made a huge mistake trusting a company he worked for because he got caught up in the money and lifestyle they provided. Unfortunately, people were hurt by what he did.
Five years later he returns home after serving jail time. He has to earn back everyone's trust, except Bailey. She believes in second chances and she also cares for Lucas.
Love So True is the second in Marquita Valentine’s Lawson Brothers Series. This book is about second chances. Lucas Lawson is returning home after serving time for embezzling money. He is returning to the people he hurt the most, his family and friends. Can he redeem himself in the eyes of this tightknit community? Most of all can he forgive himself for the mistakes he made. Bailey Yates also needs a second chance. She fell for the wrong man and he left her alone with a son. She is afraid that she may fall for the bad boy again and will be left again. She now not only has to protect herself but her son from any pain. Lucas and Bailey both need to let go of the past so they can start living and loving again.
I love this series. Each brother has his own unique story. I can’t wait for the next brother’s story.
Lucas Lawson served five years in prison for embezzlement so when he comes home no one in town trusts him, including his brothers. Lucas is determined to right the wrongs he committed against his friends and family. However, no one in town will give him a chance except Bailey Yates. Bailey is a single mom and should have had enough of bad boys in her life. But she is drawn to Lucas and offers him a job at her family's diner.
When Lucas saves Bailey's son their relationship develops. There is some conflict in the story as the town doesn't accept Lucas, but Bailey believes him unconditionally. Bailey was likable and I think she and Lucas made a good couple.
I fell for Lucas Lawson at the end of Love So Hot so I was thrilled when Love So True was announced. The story begins with Lucas walking home from prison into a family party. It was tense and heartwrenching, but sweet Bailey helps put Lucas at ease because she knows what it feels like to stand out in a not fun way. As I read, I fell even further for Lucas and Bailey as a couple, not to mention "Super Leo." ) The love between all of them is so sweet. And they are a hoot..their little jokes with each other cracked me up. As Lucas makes his way back into society, he has Bailey and Leo to help him. This little family was made for each other and I was so glad to see them get their HEA.
On a side note, though I don't want to give too much away, Lucas more than redeems himself.
So, in my book, it's another hit for Marquita Valentine. I love these Lawson brothers...even though Brody was scary harsh towards his brother. Looking forward to Mason's story next. Congratulations on another wonderful story and series, Marquita!
