It seems as though I have been waiting for this book for an extended period and was glad when it appeared on my Kindle this morning! Right off the bat, I liked the fact that the author gave an introduction to the series as it served as a refresher for me.Angelica Mason's Dad was hospitalized which necessitated Angelica's return to Savannah. Anyone who has ever experienced the job of being a caretaker will immediately empathize with her plight. Talk about a 24 - 7 job without pay! Angelica's Mother, Marilyn is the exact opposite of her Dad, Marshall. From the story, one is able to determine that Dad is the optimist despite recovering and the Mother is the pessimist. Added to the mix is Angelica's BFF, Nicole, a childhood friend for over 20 years. They are the Ying and the Yang of friends.
The plot takes a twist with Angelica's job as City Manager which complicates the story. Toss in Shawn and Beckham for another interesting twist and a business trip to San Francisco for that added spark.
I really enjoy the manner in which this author writes her stories. The love of family is over-powering to the point of sacrifice which is the way life should be lived. When it comes to family, the members should always be the top priority. This story made me emotional several times while reading. This doesn't belong in a review but on a personal note I cared for my Mom for two years in my home before her death. And, today is the day she passed away 13 years ago. So, forgive my trip down memory lane but the author's skill elicited my strong feelings.
A well written story and I loved the quotations at the beginning of each chapter. Ralph Waldo Emerson, John Lennon, Colin Powell, Carl Jung and Eleanor Roosevelt are some of the ones included. And, I must check to see if there is a re-mix by Aretha and Adele as I would love to listen to that combination.
Most highly recommended.

Blue Lady SWEET DREAMS The Angelica Mason Series Book 2 edition by Stephany Tullis Mitzi Carroll Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Love triumphs all. So much emotion, drama, and humor. Taking care of your parents is hard and when more problems arise…
Awesome story!!!!!
What a fascinating read! Exceptional writing, and extraordinary amount of details when it comes to charchter development and overall setting.
Really enjoyed this latest offering from Tullis who always manages to pull at my emotional heartstrings. Sweet Dreams focuses on familial obligations and the bond between a dad and his daughter making it a quick, satisfying read. Highly recommend for Hallmark Channel fans... this one is worth your time.
Blue Lady's Sweet Dreams.
I adore the main character in this short story. Angelica Mason is a strong willed, well-educated woman. She decides to give up a high power position to pursue love. Not many people are brave enough to make such a choice.
This is another excellent book by author Stephany Tullis.
Angelica and Nicole, best friends for twenty years, get together and do what girl-friends do, shop, go to the spa, discuss men, plot job moves, get teary eyed, and eat ice cream in the middle of the night. This is a continuing story of Angelica who has a job as city manager in Smoothville, Georgia, USA. This part of her life story is best understood after reading the novella, Blue Lady, which is available, free, for your . Angelica has been called away from her job to care for her father, who is recovering from a heart attack.
The reader should understand she consults and listens to her alter-ego, Blue Lady, in her thoughts. Also, Angelica experiences dreams, thus the book's title. As the reader, sometimes I am reading along through a crazy scene. I don't get it, until I learn Angelica has been dreaming, when I am told that she has awakened. The author, Stephany Tullis, has undertaken an interesting, but difficult, writing style, deeply developing a character by letting us move from dreams to reality and from thoughts to actions. This is part of the mystery. So, be prepared. It will make sense eventually, when Angelica wakes up to reality.
I'm a fan of author Stephany Tullis, and can easily say Blue Lady's Sweet Dreams is now my favorite. Her novels are all well written, but this one just seemed to flow so nicely, and I loved, loved the quotes (some well known and others not so much) she used as chapter headings. Langston Hughes was one of my childhood favorites, so seeing his quote solidified my reading connection with Tullis.
Not to worry if you did not read the first book (but you should as it will make you smile throughout), because a brief intro catches up readers to a point this second makes sense and flows smoothly.
As a current caretaker of my handicap granddaughter, I quickly attached to Angelica, knowing the emotional and physical toll this takes on us, but seeing it as a heavy load we simply carry. Not everyone can handle it. Parents, Marshall and Marilyn were complete opposites in outlook almost balanced Angelica's plight. Thank goodness her father, Marshall was a shiny beacon in this familial storm.
Sweet Dreams has its fair share of twists and turns, introducing various characters that are well depicted by author Tullis.
Overall all, the deeply felt, thoughtfully drawn characters walked me though this philosophical story of enduring familial love with a smile on my face. Yes, it is emotional, and yes we witness the hardships that often accompany bonds of family, but it teaches this may be a sacrifice, however in the end - is it really? I truly adored Stephany Tullis' unique writing of a situation many face in today's world.
Another lovely story by this great writer. Angelica Mason is a dreamer. That's thanks in part, at least, to her charming alter ego, Blue Lady, who urges her on. In this story, her dreamy vision of life is put to the test. Dad's sick and Mom's not easy to please. Her boss is a jerk, and a boyfriend may not be the man she thought he was...
Sometimes it does seem it all falls apart at once, doesn't it? But, as Marilyn Monroe once said, “Sometimes things fall apart so that better things can fall together.” Can Angelica Mason hang on long enough to ride out the storms in her life? You'll just have to read this quick trip on the road with Angelica Mason to find out.
